Why Xtream Codes Instead of an M3U Playlist
Both methods arrive with your subscription, and they end up in the same player. The difference is how the line-up is delivered. An M3U URL is a text file the player downloads; Xtream Codes is a small set of credentials that the player logs into, and the provider then sends the channel list, the guide data and the movie catalogue directly.
In practice the Xtream Codes route is usually the better experience. Account details are editable, so you can correct a character without re-pasting an entire URL, and the login form is more resistant to the transcription errors that make a long playlist URL fail silently.
Downloading TiviMate
TiviMate is an Android application, so it needs an Android TV box, an Android phone or tablet, or a Fire TV Stick, which runs Android underneath. There is no iOS or browser version.
Install it from the Play Store on an Android device. On a Fire TV Stick the app is not listed in the Amazon store, so follow the Fire TV install walkthrough first and side-load it. On Android TV, the Play Store is available directly on most models.
Adding IPTV Great via Xtream Codes
Open TiviMate and choose Add Playlist, then pick Xtream Codes API. Three fields matter: the server or host, your username, and your password. Paste each exactly as it was sent to you over WhatsApp, and take care with the server address, which is the field most often mistyped.
Leave the port and stream type at their defaults unless your details specifically include a port. Press Next, and TiviMate will contact the server and download your line-up. That first connection also pulls the 7-day EPG data, which is why a guide that looks empty immediately after setup will usually populate after a refresh.
Configuring the EPG
Once the guide loads, check that the time zone is set from your device rather than entered manually. An incorrect clock is the most common cause of a guide that displays the right channels at the wrong times, and it is worth ten seconds to correct.
Then set your preferred EPG offset if matches appear shifted. TiviMate can pull programme data from a single source or merge several, and merging usually produces a denser guide at the cost of a slightly longer load time.
Customizing Your Experience

Spend a few minutes on it once: pin the channels you actually watch to favourites, hide the categories you never open, and set the default startup screen to favourites.
